Governance

As a State Owned Enterprise, Mighty River Power operates under a corporate governance framework consisting of its legal requirements (under such legislation as the Companies Act 1993 and the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986), and formal and informal practices adopted by the Board of Directors.

The Board is responsible for the overall direction of Mighty River Power’s business and for ensuring that the Company has effective policies in place to manage its risks.  The Board decides the level and nature of the risks that are acceptable to the Company. 

The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Company and management of normal business risk.
