Mighty River Power is the proud sponsor of the 2000 strong Ironman New Zealand Volunteer Crew, the army dedicated to delivering a world class event.
Ironman NZ is one of the most gruelling events on the New Zealand sporting calendar. It involves a 3.8 kilometre swim, 179.2 kilometre cycle and a 42.2 kilometre run. Held each year in Taupo, Mighty River Power has been a proud sponsor of Ironman NZ since 2005.
The Volunteer Crew dedicate hundreds of hours, and support the event organisers across many facets of event coordination, providing support for many weeks leading up to the event day. Volunteer Directors are responsible for planning and marking the course and coordinating their teams to marshal and man athlete support stations throughout the event. The registrations process is also delivered primarily by volunteers.
The excitement, dedication and commitment that the Volunteer Crew bring to Ironman year after year is an inspiration, and a credit to the local community. We are proud to be associated as sponsor, providing support to the people who help make Ironman happen.
